I still remember the 1st time I slipped on a pair of 991s, it felt like putting on a pair of socks great. That was a couple of decades ago and I haven’t bought a different brand or style of running shoe since then.
I was a bit surprised when New Balance discontinued the bubble cushining 991 and replaced it with the gel padded 992. It took some to get used to but I made the transition to 992s. With the 992s also came the choice to get some number of different colors of 992s: the 991s generally only came in grey.
I has been elated to learn though that the company had again upgraded to 993s which will include a mix of bubble and gel. I think they are lighter than 992s too and the feel on 1st putting on a pair of 993s is alike to putting on a pair of 991s. They did keep the many color alternatives of the 992 line so you may be able to get these in black, grey, white.
Overall, I’m very happy with this product.
Foremost on my loyalty is the commitment that the company has to local markets. The 993s are Made in the USA and in the back of each of these shoes you may be able to see the prominent USA in bold against an American flag. They’re a patriot’s shoe and they’re quite liked in the military. Unlike other shoe businesses that use nearly slave child labor to make shoes , then sell them at awful profits in America, New Balance gives good jobs in the US. Yes they make less profit and they support fewer athletes but we purchasers are loyal because:
A its a great product
B most likely the best running shoe made don’t take my word, attempt one
C they are made in the USA
D the company is dedicated to local markets and to producing quality running shoes
No I do not run many marathons anymore but I have in the past and I do love these shoes and once every several years when my old pair of 993s get relegated to the home fix shoe, I’ll go out and purchase a shiny new pair of 993. It is generally just a bit special when I put on a new pair..
Btw, my closet has a lineup from the two pairs of decade old beaten up old 991s that still come out when I do gardening to the 992s that have been newly demoted with the buy of my 993s: Yes I still own my 991s, the go through the washer now and again and they still work after ten to 15 years amazing quality..but they can not be seen in public anymore.
Anyhow, I hope this helps you make a choice on these shoes. It is hard to find a running shoe that has history and character like this line and I will admit I am a bit selfish here, the more liked 993s remain the less likelihood that they will be discontinued before I die.

These shoes are extremly comfy and the size was right on target. This is the 3rd pair of running shoes I have bought from New Balance and plan on continued buying of thier merchandise. In general these shoes are comfy and don’t rub and part of my feet.

I really love this shoe , i just bought it becuse i hardly find any shoe that will make me run with out any ache at the bottom of my feet , and the form of this shoe is nice and cover all my feet so you may be able to feel the comfort while you’re running , i tested it in my treadmill and it is a awsome :
I recomanded this show .
